Which education board is best for your kid?

Every parent comes across a phase, where they have to choose the best education board for their kids. It is well known that boards are significant in shaping the future of the child. ICSE and CBSE are the two most recognized education boards in India. Are you confused or wondering which board to choose for your kid? Which boards offer the best education in India? If you have doubts and questions in mind, you are the right blog. Before shortlisting the best schools in Chennai, you have to finalize the education board that is perfect for your kid.

The full form of CBSE board is Central Board of Secondary Education. The full form of ICSE board is the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education. The admission procedure and syllabus are the main differences between the two boards. Before knowing their differences, you should have a general idea about these two boards.

What is meant by CBSE and ICSE boards?

CBSE is the highly preferred education board in India. It prepares the students for Senior, Secondary and Primary secondary levels. CBSE board conducts exam twice at a major level. They are AISSCE that is All India Senior School Certificate Examination at Class XII and AISSE: All India Secondary School Examination at Class X.

Another board conducts ICSE exam that is Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) conducts Class X and Class XII examination.

CBSE or ICSE board of education?

In India, hundreds of schools are allied with the CBSE board. The students who are non-regular candidates or not from CBSE board schools are permitted to attend the CBSE exams. This does not happen in ICSE board. For example, if the student wants to write ICSE exams, then the student should have pursued an education in ICSE allied schools earlier.

Board recognition is another major difference between the two boards. The Government of India approves the CBSE board. However, the certificates offered by the ICSE and CBSE educational institutions are valid globally. If you are in India, it is beneficial to study in CBSE board.

ICSE concentrates on offering practical knowledge and education, but the CBSE board does not rely on that. The CBSE syllabus consists of theoretic concepts and limits in enhancing the student’s practical knowledge.

Variations between their syllabus:

ICSE consists of three compulsory subjects for X class students. They are as follows:

  • Second language

  • Geography, Civics and History

  • English

CBSE has made six subjects compulsory for X class students.

  • Vocational subjects (extra course)

  • Social science

  • Science

  • Mathematics

  • Hindi

  • English

Though you are selecting CBSE or ICSE, English is the compulsory subject. Are you wondering which syllabus is better?

By choosing CBSE board, you can appear in entrance exams such as NEET, IIT JEE and other exams and easily succeed. Most of the entrance tests are conducted on the basis of CBSE syllabus. Also, CBSE is said to be simpler than the other boards.
